Three more new titles are now up at WBShop as part of Warner's Archive Collection.
The big news of this wave is the release of The Opposite Sex (1956). While not as entertaining as the original 1939 film The Women, it boasts a stellar cast: June Allyson, Joan Collins, Dolores Gray, Ann Sheridan, Ann Miller, Leslie Nielsen, Agnes Moorehead, Joan Blondell, Bill Goodwin and Jeff Richards.
Also out is Ronald Reagan in Brass Bancroft of the Secret Service Mysteries Collection collection. The four programmers are featured across two discs.
The action-drama Hot Rod (1950) starring Jimmy Lydon is making its DVD debut.
They are now available for rent at ClassicFlix, but may be approximately four weeks before they are available for shipment.
These new DVDs bring the total Warner Archive titles exclusively available for rent at ClassicFlix.com to 529.
I'm a bit concerned with some new 1960s titles "not making it" as part of this week's new releases, including "You're A Big Boy Now", "Once You Kiss A Stranger", "Wild, Wild Planet", and "War of the Planets."
ReplyDeleteLast month, "The Power", and "They Came to Robe Las Vegas" were also seemingly overlooked, despite being 1960s titles. Has there been a change in policy in what Classicflix is picking up from the Warner Archives?
Joseph,
ReplyDeleteOur main focus is on pre-1960 movies. Although we do carry a few hundred titles from the sixties, our catalog is not exhaustive in that decade.
Ah, ok. Thanks for the clarification, and keep up the good work.
