It appears as TCM/Warner has struck a deal with Castle Hill Productions as TCM is now listing The House Across the Bay (1940), a Castle Hill property, with an April 30th release date. The title is exclusive to TCM's website, but will be available for rent here at ClassicFlix.com.
It is not clear if it is a pressed DVD or DVD-R, but it will have bonus features (below) similar to TCM's Lost and Found RKO Collection which is DVD-R.
Nothing has been officially announced regarding TCM releasing other Castle Hill properties, but this release bodes well for Joan Bennett fans as Castle Hill owns several of her films -- Trade Winds, Vogues of 1938 and I Met My Love Again (All from 1938).
Just a few of Castle Hill's other properties, which are also sure to be highly anticipated:
- I Married a Witch (1942 - Veronica Lake, Fredric March)
- Crystal Ball (1943 - Ray Milland, Paulette Goddard)
- History Is Made at Night (1937 - Charles Boyer, Jean Arthur)
- Young and Willing (1943 - William Holden, Eddie Bracken, Susan Hayward)
- Slightly Honorable (1940 - Pat O'Brien, Broderick Crawford)
BONUS FEATURES:
- Lobbycards
- Scene Stills
- Publicity Stills
- Movie Posters
- TCMdb Article & Trivia
