Sony has announced an October 1st release date for From Here to Eternity (Blu-Ray).
Although not promoted as such, the studio has timed this Blu release of 1953's Oscar winner for best picture to coincide with its 60th anniversary. Most of the bonus features from the DVD release will carry over.

In this landmark film, passion and tragedy collide on a military base as a fateful day in December 1941 draws near. Private Prewitt (Montgomery Clift) is a soldier and former boxer being manipulated by his superior and peers. His friend Maggio (Frank Sinatra) tries to help him but has his own troubles. Sergeant Warden (Burt Lancaster) and Karen Holmes (Deborah Kerr) tread on dangerous ground as lovers in an illicit affair. Each of their lives will be changed when their stories culminate in the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.
Winner of eight Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Supporting awards for Sinatra in a career-defining role and for Donna Reed as a not-so-wholesome "club hostess."

After a two-year gap since the release of Season 3, The Donna Reed Show finally has solid December 20th release date set for Season 4.
MPI, known for such releases as Becket, Family Affair and The Complete Sherlock Holmes, among others, acquired rights to the series and will bring all 39 of Season Four's episodes on 5 discs.
It will retail for $39.98, but is available at ClassicFlix.com for only $29.99.

Yes, it is slim pickens out there for new releases. But we did find something that was somewhat under the radar. Shout! Factory has a November 3rd release date for Merry Sitcom! - Christmas Classics From TV's Golden Age.
It contains a variety of seven Christmas episodes, on one disc. One of which, "Christmas Memory" from Window on Mainstreet, has yet to be released on DVD.
It will retail will be $12.99, but it's available at ClassicFlix.com for only $10.99.

Paramount has scheduled a November 3rd release date for the Blu-Ray debut of the perennial Christmas classic It's a Wonderful Life.
It's not a special edition as the only bonus features were on previous releases (The Making of It's A Wonderful Life, Original Theatrical Trailer [in HD]). It will have a colorized version and is reported to be a 2-disc set.
It will retail for 39.99, but is available at ClassicFlix.com for only $27.99.
