In a breathtaking surprise, RHI Entertainment (owner of Hal Roach's library), has announced an October 25th release date for Laurel and Hardy - The Essential Collection.

More details are to come, but we do know it will be a 10-disc set with "58 of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy’s talking shorts and feature films, produced under legendary movie mogul Hal Roach from 1929 through 1940," most of which have long been out of print since released by Image Entertainment over a decade ago.

Retail will be $99.98, but it is available at ClassicFlix.com for only $74.99.

Previously released by Legend Films in a standard version, March of the Wooden Soldiers (A.K.A. Babes in Toyland) now has a Blu-Ray release scheduled for September 14th.

Like the standard edition, it will have both black and white and colorized versions. Bonus features are not forthcoming, however it's likely it will carry over all the bonus features from the standard edition.
